GOOD CANDIDATES
Most apprenticeship programs require a high school diploma or equivalent, along with a strong foundation in functional math. Additionally, good candidates are motivated and willing to learn. They’re reliable, show up on time and have a strong work ethic. They’re good at working independently, but also as part of a team. If you’re willing to put in the hard work required by a union apprenticeship program, you’ll be rewarded with a fulfilling, lifelong career.
Earn while you learn
As a union apprentice, you receive a top-notch education at no cost to you. Plus, you’ll receive an excellent wage and benefits while gaining on-the-job experience with a signatory contractor. Your apprenticeship also gives you access to health, pension and welfare benefits, so you’ll be able to retire comfortably and confidently.
A LIFELONG CAREER
Once you’ve completed your apprenticeship, you become a journeyman — with endless opportunities for advancement. Additional education and certifications can help you progress to higher level positions like foreman, superintendent or contractor. The choice is yours!

IHMVCU Headquarters
IHMVCU’s Quad City roots date back to 1934, with the International Harvester East Moline Works and the Farmall Credit Union in Rock Island. Nearly 90 years later, IHMVCU is the largest credit union in the Quad Cities area.
